Most people arrive here after a long stretch of managing something on their own — a diagnosis that upended their routine, a way of thinking that never quite fit the world around them, or a feeling they can't name in any of the languages they speak.
I'm Max. I'm a therapist in Central London working relationally, in Transactional Analysis. I also live with Ménière's disease and I'm AuDHD and dyslexic — which means some of what you might come here to describe, you won't have to describe from scratch.

Vertigo isn't only a physical event. It's the cancelled plans, the fear of the next attack, the slow narrowing of a life around something unpredictable — and the exhaustion of explaining it to people who hear "dizzy" and think you mean lightheaded.
I've lived with Ménière's for years. Therapy here isn't about managing symptoms; it's about the anxiety, grief and loss of confidence that come with them, and finding your way back to a life that feels like yours.
A diagnosis in adulthood can be a relief and a bereavement at the same time. There's the re-reading of your whole history, the anger about what might have been easier, and the practical question of what now.
I'm AuDHD and dyslexic myself. You don't have to mask here. I'll adapt to your needs to feel OK.
Some things can only be said in the language they happened in. If you're living away from where you grew up, therapy in your second or third language can feel like working with the volume turned down.
We can work in French, English or German, and move between them whenever it's useful.
A space where your identity is the starting point, not something you have to justify or educate me about first — including work around shame, intimacy, coming out, and relationships of any shape.
Individual sessions are £80.00 for 50 minutes.
Group sessions are £60.00 per person for 90 minutes.
I hold a small number of lower-cost places — please ask.
We meet for 50 minutes, once a week, at the same time. Sessions are in Central London 5 minutes walk from Oxford Circus and Bond Street Station or online.
There's no script. You bring whatever is in the room that day, and we look at it together. Over time, we notice the patterns — the old rules you learned early on about how to be safe, or liked, or good enough, and how those rules are working out for you now.
My starting point is that there is nothing wrong with you. In Transactional Analysis we call it "I'm OK, you're OK" — you're not a problem to be solved, and I'm not an expert handing down answers. We're two people thinking together about your life.
Some people come for a few months with something specific. Others stay longer and go deeper. We'll talk about what you want, and review it as we go.

Choosing a therapist from a website is a strange thing to have to do. The research is fairly clear that the single biggest factor in whether therapy works is whether the two people get on — and you can't tell that from a page of text.
So before anything else, we talk for 20 minutes, free, with no obligation. You can ask me anything, tell me as much or as little as you like, and see how it feels to talk to me. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so, and I'll point you towards someone who might be.

People usually find their way here for one of a few reasons: living with Ménière's or another vestibular condition, a late ADHD or autism diagnosis, being LGBTQI+, or navigating life in a language that isn't the one they grew up in. If none of that describes you but something in how I write feels right, get in touch anyway — the fit matters more than the label.
We'll go through a few questions helping me to understand you better.
We'll talk about what's brought you here and what you're hoping might be different. You can bring as much or as little detail as you want — there's no version of this where you get it wrong.
The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Many clients attend therapy once a week, while others may attend less frequently. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Say so. Fit matters more than politeness here — if it's not right, I'd rather know, and I can point you towards someone who might be a better match.
Yes. I don't disclose who I see or what we discuss with anyone outside my own supervision, which is bound by the same confidentiality I offer you. The only exception is if there's imminent danger to you or someone else.
Yes — in person in Central London, online, or a mix of both. We can talk through what's likely to work best for you.
I know what sudden vertigo does to a schedule — I live with it too. I'll accommodate changes as much as I possibly can.
t's the model I trained in and the one I use to make sense of what comes up in the room. The short version: we all learned rules early on about how to get love, stay safe, or be "good enough" — and we carry those rules into adult life, often long after they've stopped being useful. TA gives us a way to spot those old patterns as they're happening, understand where they came from, and start making different choices. You don't need to know anything about it beforehand — I'll explain whatever's useful as we go, only when it's useful.
